Aviator Airport Alliance (Aviator), a full-range provider of aviation services at 15 airports across the Nordics and part of Avia Solutions Group, has signed a new ground handling contract with Vietnam Airlines at Copenhagen Airport (CPH), supporting the launch of the airline’s first direct route between Vietnam and Northern Europe from 15 December 2025.
The new service connects Copenhagen (CPH) with Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) and will operate three times per week, improving long-haul connectivity between the Nordic region and Southeast Asia. The long-haul route has an approximate one-way flight time of 11 hours and 40 minutes.
Vietnam Airlines will operate the route using Boeing 787 aircraft in a two-class configuration, offering 28 Business Class and 283 Economy Class seats. Under the agreement, Aviator will provide full ground handling and de-icing services for all Vietnam Airlines flights at Copenhagen Airport.
“This new route represents an important step for connectivity between the Nordics and Southeast Asia,” said Linus Olofsson, Head of Commercial Denmark at Aviator. “Long-haul operations require seamless coordination on the ground, and we are proud that Vietnam Airlines has chosen Aviator as its ground handling and de-icing partner in Copenhagen.”
Vietnam Airlines’ entry into Copenhagen marks the airline’s first operation in the Nordic market, further expanding its European network.
“We are delighted to announce our inaugural direct service between Vietnam and Northern Europe, marking a significant milestone in our partnership with Aviator at Copenhagen Airport,” said Nguyen Tien Long – Station Manager of Vietnam Airlines. “Superior ground handling is pivotal to the success of a new long-haul operation. Aviator’s expertise ensures the seamless reliability we demand from day one.”
