Aviator advances toward carbon neutrality with fossil-free operations in Sweden and 62% electric GSE across the Nordics

Aviator Airport Alliance, a leading full-range provider of aviation services and part of Avia Solutions Group, has reached 62% electrification of its ground support equipment (GSE) fleet across its network, according to its ESG Report 2025 data.

A key milestone was achieved in Sweden, where Aviator’s stations at Stockholm Arlanda (ARN), Gothenburg Landvetter (GOT), and Malmö (MMX) transitioned to fossil-free operations. From December 1, 2025, these stations have been operating using 100% renewable electricity and renewable fuel (HVO100).

In Copenhagen (CPH), the transition to 100% renewable electricity has reduced on-site operational emissions by 60%, while in Helsinki (HEL) the transition to renewable electricity was completed in Q4 2025, positioning the station for further emission reductions in 2026.

As part of its broader climate strategy, Aviator has also invested in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), offsetting approximately 50% of Sweden-based business travel emissions, supporting the development of more sustainable aviation solutions.

Aviator’s progress is supported by a strong focus on people and operational excellence. In 2025, the company employed over 3,500 people across 15 stations in four countries, continuing to invest in training, leadership development, and digital tools to empower frontline teams.

Women represented 26% of the workforce, while 45% of employees were under the age of 30, reflecting a continued focus on diversity, inclusion, and long-term workforce sustainability.

Operationally, Aviator maintained a strong safety culture, supported by over 11,000 inspections and a compliance rate exceeding 98%, alongside continuous improvements in reporting culture and safety governance.

“As we move into 2026, our priorities are unwavering. We are focused on safety in every process, the empowerment of our local teams, and achieving measurable progress toward carbon neutrality by 2030. Our ambition remains to make travel safe and easy with a diminishing impact on the planet. I want to thank every Aviator colleague for the resilience and professionalism that made the achievements of 2025 possible. We look forward to a future of responsible, shared growth.” says Jo Alex Tanem, CEO of Aviator Airport Alliance.

Aviator’s 2025 ESG Report outlines a comprehensive approach to sustainability, integrating environmental, social, and governance priorities into its long-term strategy. With a clear roadmap toward carbon neutrality by 2030, the company continues to reduce emissions, strengthen operational resilience, and support customers in their own sustainability journeys.
